For proprietors Steve and Robin Moore, wine making has always been a pasion. For years they produced wine in their garage for family and friends. Steve has also spent decades building wine caves for some of the most esteemed Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wineries. Needless to say, the wine business was a natural progression for the family. Having dreams of a mountain top vineyard and winery, Steve and Robin purchased the 70 acre property in 1995. Since then, it’s been a labor of love for the entire family. Son Beau Moore, acts as Vineyard Manager, as daughter Stepheny Moore Johnson takes her place as Hospitality Manager and Wedding Coordinator for the estate. With years of hard work behind them (and many more ahead) the family has grown making Steve and Robin’s grandchildren the 6th generation of Moore’s in Lake County.

Saying that the Moore Family Winery is a “family owned operation” is not saying nearly enough. Steve and Beau along with a few helpful friends built the Mediterranean style tasting room. Robin acts as “Moore family child care,” which has been found to be the most important job on the estate! Every family member has his role. With Uncle Huck BBQing his famed good eats for the concerts, Gabriella Moore (Beau’s wife) digs her hands in daily to the landscape, and Gary Johnson (Stepheny’s husband) educating the trade on Moore Family wines, no detail is left unnoticed. Stop in any given weekend and introduce yourself to Steve, Robin, Beau and Stepheny; without a doubt they’ll be there, and they are more than happy to have you! “When your glass is empty, get some Moore!”
